Botox & Dysport

There are many wrinkle treatments out there other than wrinkle creams. While many people are big fans of the ways wrinkle creams work to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, there exist some other methods of treating wrinkles that are hard to ignore.

You can essentially stop wrinkles from forming by using injections. Two of the more popular injections today are Botox and Dysport. They are both used to stop wrinkles as they surface on the skin as well as prevent new wrinkles from forming. It’s worth noting that results are not permanent and it is necessary to repeat the procedures.

Botox and Dysport (the latter was just recently approved by the FDA) are to be used on the lines between the eyebrows. These lines are often times caused by sun damage and repetitive squinting. The toxins contained in these injections work by blocking the nerve receptors on the muscle to inhibit wrinkle formation. Botox is also known for it’s multitude of off-label uses, such as eliminating crows feet and smoothing out forehead lines. (Source: New Beauty Magazine).

It’s worth noting that injections can be painful for some people, so make sure you get all of the necessary information before deciding on either procedure.
